Manage Stress and Pain with Routine
Shared by Dr. Erik Waldeland
At our Chiro Health clinics, we focus not only on how we can help you get back on your road to wellness with chiropractic care and physical therapy. The importance of what you are eating, how well (and how much) you’re moving, and how you manage your stress play a HUGE role in how you heal. The part of your health I want to focus on in this article is how well you’re following a routine and creating healthy habits, because on a weekly basis our patients are spending a small fraction of their time actually in the clinic. This is important because what our patients do outside the clinic absolutely needs to be addressed if the root cause of pain is going to be identified. The research is very clear that healthy habits has a huge impact on the health of both adults, as well as kids, so starting healthy habits early can set kids up for a lifetime of health. Check out a couple quotes below from the attached research article and the importance of creating healthy habits.
“Routine is consistently found to be important for children. A bedtime routine is associated with increased family functioning and improved sleep habits.4,5 Family routines have been linked to the development of social skills and academic success,6 and adherence to family routines has been identified as important for family resilience during times of crisis.”
“Those successful at maintaining weight loss often eat the same foods, engage in consistent exercise, and do not skip meals.”
At Minnesota Chiro Health, we examine the person as a whole, and consider not only how their spine is functioning, but also what the diet looks like as well as how they manage stress to determine what the root cause of the problem is.
