Lower Inflammation with Vitamin C

Vitamin C to Lower Inflammation and Stay Out of Pain
There is something about a cold glass of lemonade on a hot day. It is both refreshing and can feel relaxing. One of the great parts about this recipe is that it is also filled with health benefits to help lower inflammation that causes neck and back pain. It gives many of the vitamins and micronutrients needed for our health with the spinach while providing the vitamin C and flavor with the lemons. This also keeps the drink from being too sweet and causing insulin spikes that can be associated with too much sugar in the drink. I am attaching a piece of research that dives deeper into the health benefits that can be found in lemons. It’s true that fruits are healthy, but the sugars in them can still cause an overload on the body if that is all we put in our smoothie. Make sure to keep the green leafy vegetables in your smoothie to lower inflammation and stay out of pain!
“The beneficial effects of the dietary Citrus fruits can be attributed, not only to the vitamin C, minerals, dietary fiber, essential oils, organic acids and carotenoids, but also to the antioxidant activity of their flavonoids.”
“Vitamin C, by means of its antioxidant activity, may help to prevent cardiovascular diseases and arteriosclerosis.”
“Lemon fruit constitutes, in addition, a rich source of minerals necessary for health care and maintenance.”
Another bonus to this recipe is that the Innate Choice Omega 3 essential nutrients has a citrusy lemon flavor that pairs well with this smoothie. At the end of the day, make sure you are keeping up with all three tenets of health: movement, nutrition, and stress management. This is what will help you to live a healthy and pain free life.
Recipe

- ½ organic green apple
- ½ organic lemon (peeled and seeds removed)
