The Amazing and Mighty Green Drink with Ginger
Have you ever had an upset stomach and asked someone what might make it feel better? I know I have. Growing up and I heard from my mother, Dad, Grandfather, drink some ginger ale. This knowing that we have of the health benefits of ginger has been around for thousands of years. It has even been documented for use of ailments by Indians and Chinese over 5000 years ago.
Ginger is in the same family as turmeric which many of us are familiar with because of its anti-inflammatory properties. Research has shown that ginger is beneficial for many aspects of health. Some of these include anti-inflammation, antioxidant properties, anti-nausea, and many more. There was research regarding the safety and efficacy of ginger in managing nausea and vomiting during pregnancy and it revealed that ginger is low-risk and effective treatment for these symptoms. Research shows that ginger has many medicinal properties but the specific mechanisms of how it is achieved is still unclear. Overall, ginger appears to be safe and its effects are mighty and amazing for its many applications.
My favorite part about ginger is that it makes recipes have a spicy kick to them and it smells absolutely amazing. A little ginger goes a long way so be careful when adding it to recipes because it can easily overpower the other ingredients. The recipe I am sharing today is simple but has amazing flavor and aroma which I hope you enjoy!
Recipe:
- A big handful of spinach (Fresh or frozen)
- 4 orange wedges peeled
- 1 inch x inch cube of ginger
- About 1 cup water
