Healthy Taco Tuesday!
We all love tacos, and we love them so much that we gave Tuesday the name Taco Tuesday! I love a great taco just as much as the next person but just like most of our food these days you have to look at what you’re actually eating. As a rule of thumb if you can read an ingredients list always do so to see if there are any preservative or chemicals in the food that you don’t want in your body.
When it comes to the actual taco itself it can be pretty health if we take out the shell. We want to limit the number of grains that we consume everyday because the research shows that;
“Consumption of high levels of whole grain cereal products impairs bone metabolism not only by limiting calcium intake, but by indirectly altering vitamin D metabolism.”
Calcium and Vitamin D3 are just a few of the deficiencies that having a high number of grains can cause. It’s been also linked to multiple other health issues like anemia, reduction in lifespan, and increase number of dental cavities or enamel defects.
So, make taco Tuesday grain free for by adding lettuce instead of a tortilla or taco shell for a healthy twist!
