A Good Diet to Manage Stress
Shared by Dr. Antonio Flaquer
There are many ways to manage stress in life but one of the easiest and least recognizable one is how are we eating and what are we fueling our body with? We have to make sure we are maintaining a healthy diet. Now, this doesn’t mean we have to salads and green drinks for every single meal of the day. I understand that we are human and we all have our cheat days and have that burger or pizza that we had a party, but we always have to make sure we get back on the ball with our food. The biggest reason is because most of the foods people consume are actually inflammatory which increases the likelihood of pain and stress setting in the body. If we have high amounts of inflammation in our body then our immune system and musculoskeletal system have to work even harder for the body to heal or to function the way it needs to. More energy used equals added stress on our bodies. The consequences of a poor diet can result in things such as obesity. Obesity often leads to depression for individuals which is also a great amount of stress on the body both physically and mentally. Eating a healthy diet is vital for us to live the life we want to live which is pain free and of course stress free. Now I know we are all humans, and we have stress throughout each day of our lives and we can’t control what happens in our lives, but we can control the current moment we are in. So, being conscious of what you are eating and putting into your body is something you can control to have a better outcome on life. Eat well, move well, and think well and enjoy life the way you wish to see it. It’s there for you, so don’t brush it off otherwise you will suffer in the long run.
